The first day of school for students is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th. Staff are scheduled to report to school on Thursday, September 1st.

Congratulations Mrs. Lion-Bailey! Mrs. Lion-Bailey has been selected as a future Google Certified Innovator, the highest honor in regard to Google for Education. After passing a series of Google exams, completing a rigorous application process, and creating a video highlighting her vision for 21st century learning, Mrs. Lion-Bailey will be attending the Google Certified Innovator Academy in Mountain View, California in February 2016. While at the academy, she will have the privilege of learning with and from a cohort of fellow educators about maximizing 21st century learning in education today. Morris Plains is fortunate to have two, Mr. Kramar and Mrs. Lion-Bailey.

The Morris Plains Borough School will host a Veteran's Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. The third grade students will have breakfast with twenty-five veterans and will then march to the auditorium through the "Garden of Gratitude" (a poppy garden of 400). At last evening's Board of Education Meeting, the 2014-2015 school calendar was revised. Due to snow days taken, the last day of school for students will be Tuesday, June 23, 2015 with a 12:45 dismissal. The district used a total of four (4) snow days. Effective immediately, whenever the school calls a delayed opening, schools will be delayed by 2 hours. On a delayed opening day, Borough School will start at 10:05; Mountain Way School will start at 10:20. Preschool classes will begin at 10:45. Bus schedules will be delayed by 2 hours. Protecting Your Child from Enterovirus D-68 Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is a respiratory illness in children which has spread rapidly across the country. A case of EV-D68 recently was confirmed in Morris County. Not all respiratory viruses occurring at this time are caused by EV-D68. The early symptoms of this virus are similar to those of other respiratory illnesses, including the common cold. As is the case with most viruses, there are some simple steps that schools and families can take to help to prevent the spread of this illness and protect the health of all our children.
